Join ABSF
ABSF annual memberships are available for individuals and families.
ABSF enables visually impaired individuals to ski with qualified guides
at a variety of ski facilities throughout the ski season.
Visually impaired skiers of varying levels of experience work with guides
so that they can enjoy a fascinating winter sport. Sighted guides ski in
front of or behind visually impaired skiers so that they can traverse
slopes of differing degrees of difficulty.
If you are a visually impaired individual interested in learning to ski,
an experienced visually impaired skier searching for guides, an
experienced sighted skier interested in guiding visually impaired skiers
or if you are just interested in being part of an organization which
assists visually impaired individuals to enjoy a great sport while
learning valuable skills, please take the step and join ABSF. Membership
benefits include discounted lift tickets, ski rentals, lodging and
transportation.
In addition, ABSF is sponsoring a guide clinic where interested,
experienced skiers learn methods for guiding. This clinic is scheduled each year as the first ski event for the season. Check the schedule of events for this information.
However, the fun really starts when
everyone gets out on the slopes. ABSF
sponsors numerous day trips to Wilmot Mountain and Alpine Valley. There
will also be weekend trips to a local ski resort. The foundation also holds one western trip in the Spring of each year.
The annual membership fee for individuals is $25 ($20 if paid by January 1st). Annual family
memberships are only $35 ($30 if paid by January 1st). To become a member or to have your entire family
become members, please download and fill out the membership form(s), make a
check payable to ABSF in the appropriate amount and return it to the
address indicated on the form.
