OFF SEASON ACTIVITIES

Now that we've ended another successful ski season, we are in the planning process for our off season activities. In addition to what we scheduled last year, we'll be adding some new activities this year. Here is a list of what's coming. Once our activities have been planned, we'll update this site to give you all the dates and additional information.
  • Horseback riding in June
  • Water skiing in July
  • Canoeing in August
  • Worley ball/bumper cars in September
  • Great America in October
  • Zip lining in November

SAVE THE DATE

Our inaugural Ski-A-Thon was a great success. Next year's Ski-A-Thon is scheduled for February 9 and 10, 2013 at Devil's Head Resort in Merrimac, Wisconsin. Join us for two days of skiing, compete in our timing race and dance the night away at our party Saturday night, complete with a live band, food, beverages, raffles and awards.

ABSF Trip to Breckenridge in 2011

In April, 2011, Jenise Jensen went skiing with members of ABSF at Breckenridge in Colorado. She has written a great atricle about the trip which can be found at http://buzz.snow.com/channels/buzz_channels/snow-squad/b/weblog/archive/2011/04/10/the-american-blind-skiing-foundation.aspx and she posted a video of the trip at http://buzz.snow.com/videos/buzz_videos/snow_squad/m/snow_squad/5503.aspx. ABSF thanks Jenise for spreading the word about our organization and the great times we have.

Contact ABSF if you would like to volunteer as a ski guide-and help show some other visually impaired people that skiing is too fun not to do just because you can’t see well!

ABSF is endorsed by the Chicago Metropolitan Ski Council (CMSC). Some ABSF blind skiers have become proficient in racing and have participated and won medals while others just ski for the fun and exhilaration.  ABSF welcomes everyone.

This totally volunteer organization depends on voluntary contributions and fundraising activities to continue its work.  Tax deductible contributions can be sent to
